Genealogical Research Assistance Genealogical research may be conducted for personal reasons, entrance to Daughters of the American Revolution and similar organizations, or to establish land claims among other potential uses. Genealogical Research Assistance is available in the Reference department and in the Long Island Collection. The Reference department can assist researchers with general genealogy research including where to find vital records and genealogy resources from all over the world. The Long Island Collection can assist researchers who have connections to Long Island or are trying to find or verify a connection to Long Island or Long Island families. The Long Island Collection holds primary and secondary materials such as family trees, wills, deeds, maps, periodicals, indexes of births, deaths, and marriages, and other materials which may be useful to genealogical researchers.
