Earn prizes and stickers along the way! When you begin to read aloud to your children, their love for stories begins. Joining a summer reading program is not only fun but also an effective way to bond with your little ones. There will be a special show for those children having read 20 books or more.Independent Readers:
This club is for kids entering grades 1-6. Youngsters agree to read 10 or more books during the summer and then list them on the reading record that is kept in the library. Earn prizes and stickers along the way! After reading 10 or more books, kids are eligible to attend a special show at the end of the summer.
Express Yourself @ Your Library… is the theme for those entering grades 7 and 8 in the Fall.
In this young teen club, they will read a total of five books and receive a prize for every book that they read. At the end of the summer, they will receive a gift certificate after the completion of reading all 5 books.
Summer Reading Program Guidelines:
*Children ages 2 ½ to grade 8 may join the reading clubs.
*Children are awarded prizes and stickers as they continue to read.
*For those that complete the required number of books, they are eligible to attend a special show at the end of summer.A Note to Parents:
The goal of the Summer Reading Program is to encourage children to read during the summer months in order to foster a love of reading that will last a lifetime. This program is designed to make reading fun so that children will want to participate and read more. In addition, children who read during the summer are better prepared to meet the challenge of a new school year in the fall.
