Unattended Children Policy

It is the policy of the East Hampton Library that children ages 8 and under may not be left unattended. Although the children's room is happy to serve the needs of children of all ages, the librarians cannot be expected to supervise young children adequately while carrying out their professional responsibilities.
We would like to remind you that the library is a public building and that leaving children unattended is a disservice to the staff and the library, as well as a safety hazard to the children themselves.
