Circulation Policies
Library Cards - District residents can apply
for a card and begin using the library the same day. Non-district
residents are eligible to borrow under direct
access.
Patrons age birth through 14 years will have a Children's Library Card with privileges to borrow any children's circulating items in the Library.
At age 15 we will automatically change the privileges of a Children's Library Card to that of an Adult Library Card.
Parents have the option of changing their child's Library card to a Adult Library Card before the age of 15 or keeping their child's Library card as a Children's Library Card until the age of 18.
Reserves can
be made on all library materials by resident card holders in person
or through the online
catalog. If we don't own
an item that you are interested in borrowing, we may be able to
get the item from another library through interlibrary
loan. Please see the Reference Librarian for help placing reserves
and interlibrary loans.
Unlimited
renewals can be
made on most materials except those with
reserves. New entertainment DVDs are allowed one renewal. New adult fiction and new adult non-fiction are allowed 3 renewals each.
Renewals can be made in person, online or by phoning the library at 631-324-0222 ext 1. Please have your
library barcode ready when renewing. Past due items cannot be renewed
online.
Overdue fines are not charged for Children's books. All other Library items have overdue fines as shown below. |
